Tiger surrounded by fans as he reappears for Masters

Tiger Woods has been back on a golf course - in the public eye - for the first time in four months, surrounded by a massive gallery for his early morning first practice for the Masters.

The four-times Masters champion was back in familiar surroundings but unfamiliar territory, playing his first public golf since his stunning fall from grace at the end of last November when he admitted to extra-marital affairs.

Fans following Woods and Fred Couples were 10-15 deep lining the length of each hole, surrounded by beefed-up security, and with helicopters buzzing overhead.

The world number one has just started a media conference at Augusta National which is being broadcast live around the world.

The first round of the Masters is on Friday.
