Two more qualifiers at sqwim champs

Olympian Glenn Snyders got the perfect birthday present when he qualified for the Commonwealth Games at the national swimming championships in Waitakere.

Snyders, who turned 23 yesterday, met the qualifying time for the 100 metres breastroke again in the evening finals, as did did another Beijing Olympian, Hayley Palmer, in the 100 freestyle.

Six swimmers have now qualified for New Delhi with two days remaining in the championships that double as the official Commonwealth Games Trials.

There was disappointment though for Corney Swanepoel, who finished a close second to

training partner Moss Burmester in the men's 100 butterfly, with both just over the qualifying time.

Burmester's qualified in the 200.
