The New Zealand football captain Ryan Nelsen was back on the pitch for his English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers , helping them to a nil all draw against title contenders Manchester United.
Nelsen played for an hour after coming off the reserves bench, having been sidelined for the past six weeks with a knee injury.
A win would have put United ahead of Chelsea in the title race, but the London club now leads leads by a point with a game in hand.
Manchester City strengthened its hold on fourth and a place in the European Champions League with a 5-1 win over Birmingham.
