New Zealand has qualified for the FIFA Under -17 women's football World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago with a record 18-0 win over Tonga in Auckland.

The Young Football Ferns had only to avoid defeat against the bottom placed team but led 9-0 at half-time.

Hannah Wong scored six goals to take the tournament Golden Boot trophy ahead of team-mate Holly Paterson.

New Zealand join Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, the two Koreas, and Trinidad and Tobago as nations already qualified for the 16 nation finals in September.
