The New Zealand Olympic Committee says it will be seeking advice from the Government's Major Events Security Committee, in the wake of last night's bombing outside an IPL cricket match in the Indian city of Bangalore.

The Commonwealth Games in Delhi are scheduled to take place in six months time and the NZOC says athlete safety remains it's highest priority.

Up to 15 people were injured in the bombings ahead of the top of the table Indian Premier League match between New Zealander Ross Taylor's team the Bangalore Royal Challengers and the Mumbai Indians - for the record Mumbai won by 57 runs.

The organisations says it will continue to work closely with the Major Events Security Committee, the Commonwealth Games Federation and other Commonwealth Nations to monitor the situation.
