The Kenyan runner Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot has shattered the Boston Marathon course record to win the men's title at this year's event while Ethiopia's Teyba Erkesso won the women's race.
The-21-year old Cheruiyot, who's not related to four-time Boston Marathon winner Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot, won in 2hrs 5mins 52secs, beating the previous best by over a minute and 15 seconds.
The win earns Cheruiyot almost $250 thousand plus a $35 thousand bonus for the course record.
