The Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby franchise has confirmed its chief executive Brian Waldron, the man at the centre of the Melbourne Storm salary cap rort, has resigned.
The former Storm chief executive offered his resignation to the club on Friday morning, and it was accepted by chairman Harold Mitchell.
A Rebels spokeswoman says the club's books would also be scrutinised.
