After finishing the last two seasons at the bottom of the New Zealand Football Championship, Canterbury United achieved their pre-season goal of making the playoffs then exceeded it by reaching today's Grand Final in West Auckland.

They're at Waitakere United where the home side's unbeaten this season.

Canterbury's coach, the former All White Keith Braithwaite, says reaching the final from fourth in the round robin is a great result for a team with a lot of young players in their first championship season.
