Mystics too strong for Tactix

7:09 am on 25 April 2010

The Northern Mystics have beaten the Canterbury Tactix 59-50 in West Auckland at the start of round six in netball's ANZ Championship.

The Mystics began well with a good first quarter and led throughout, never looking in danger of failing to break a two-match losing streak.

The Mystics goal shoot Catherine Latu missed only one of her 34 shots while the young Tactix shooters Anna Thompson and Ellen Halpenny struggled against the home side's experienced defenders Joline Henry and Althea Byfield.

It's the fifth straight loss for the Tactix, who suffered an early blow when their Australian wing attack Chelsea Pitman had to be helped off court with a knee injury.
