Storm unleash fury on Warriors

6:21 am on 26 April 2010

The Melbourne Storm unleashed their fury on the Warriors last night with a crushing 40-6 margin as they resumed their season three days after being stripped of two premiership titles and fined for serious breaches of the NRL salary cap.

Melbourne's skipper Cameron Smith says to a man it was the proudest moment of their careers, but their patience will be tested over the next 19 weeks as they play out the rest of the season on pride.

Smith hasn't given up hope that the NRL might relent on its decision to ban them from accruing any points in 2010.

The Storm players were due to meet with their Players Association late last night to canvass a wide range of options, including the possibility of taking pay cuts in an attempt to get under the salary cap.
