Pulse head to Invercargill still chasing first season win

4:41 pm on 26 April 2010

Two New Zealand teams captained by Australians play in Wellington tonight, when the Central Pulse host the Southern Steel in the trans-Tasman netball competition.

The Southern Steel have won two of their games so far, while the Pulse have lost all five of their matches, having won only one game in the two and half years of the competition.

Megan Dehn will captain the Steel and Jane Altschwager the Pulse, with the pair having previously played together at the New South Wales Swifts.

Dehn though says she's treated as a local by fans as she's spent most of the last five years playing in New Zealand while Altschwager only joined the Pulse this year.

The sides have already played each other once this season with the Steel winning 56-44.

In the other game tonight the West Coast Fever host the Adelaide Thunderbirds in Perth.
