Bray says Giteau's comments unacceptable

9:28 am on 29 April 2010

The Super 14 rugby referees manger Lyndon Bray says referees are comfortable with criticism but ACT Brumbies player Matt Giteau's comments about referee Steve Walsh were too personal.

Walsh was removed from this weekend's Super 14 clash between the Brumbies and Queensland Reds, while Giteau's comments has resulted in him copping a 6-and-a-half thousand dollar fine.

Giteau went so far as to say it wouldn't be worth them turning up if Walsh was in charge this week.

Speaking before Giteau's fine was imposed, Bray says that type of comment is unacceptable.....

Bray says Walsh wasn't demoted but rather stood down so the referee didn't become the focus of the game.
