Calm Steel attack leads to win in netball's southern derby

The Southern Steel have outclassed the Canterbury Tactix 66-38 in the trans-Tasman netball championship's first round seven match in Christchurch, and topped their record winning margin set just last round.

The Steel lead the eighth-equal Tactix 29-22 at half-time, extending their four goal first quarter lead in the second as they began to take control of the match.

They finished the third quarter up by 20, 48-28, and finished the fourth up by 28 goals - four more than the mark they set last weekend against the Central Pulse.

Steel shooter Daneka Wipiiti netted 38 goals from 46 attempts.

The win moves the Southern Steel up to eight points on the table, currently in a share of third , while the Tactix, stay just above the Central Pulse, tied for eighth on two points.
