A war of words has erupted between Tiger Woods' swing coach and television golf commentator Johnny Miller.

During an interview Miller, a former US and British Open champion who now works as chief golf analyst for the American NBC network, said Woods should sack instructor Hank Haney.

Miller says Woods simply needs to watch his US Open form of ten years ago and forget the technique Haney's been teaching him.

In an email response to the network, Haney stated that in the last two years, Woods has won 44 percent of his tournaments and finished in the top three in 61 percent.

Haney began working with Woods in 2004 and says in the two years prior to taht Woods won 24 percent of tournaments he played and finished top three in 43 percent.

Woods last week shot his worst round in a non-major, a 79 to miss the cut by eight strokes at the PGA Tour event in Charlotte.
