The 34th Americas Cup regatta will probably take place in 2013 or 14 with San Francisco among the favourites to host the event.
Russell Coutts, chief executive of the Cup holding syndicate Oracle, told a news conference in Rome they've engaged professional event specialists to decide the venue, which is the priority, rather than the date.
A final announcement will be made at the end of the year.
