A serious knee injury has ruled Peta Scholz out of the rest of netball's ANZ Championship but she will remain involved with the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic.
The loss of the influential midcourter, who was capped 54 times for Australia, is a big blow for the Magic.
Scholz will need a knee reconstruction after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee during last weekend' s match against the Central Pulse.
She says she's devastated, having never been injured till now, but still feel like part of the team and will stay in Mt Maunganui with her husband and two young daughters for the rest of the season.
Coach Noeline Taurua says the Magic will use Scholtz's experience and skills in another way and haven't ruled out drafting in a replacement player.
