Fifteen home games for Phoenix

7:23 am on 21 May 2010

The Wellington Phoenix will play 15 homes games in the next A-League season, 14 in the capital and one in Christchurch.

Chief executive Tony Pignata says the draw's worked out quite well for the Phoenix as they wanted to reward loyal fans in Wellington, where they're unbeaten in 19 matches.

But he says they're also keen for another game in Christchurch after a crowd more than 19,000 watched last season's win over Adelaide United.

The Phoenix have a bye in the first week of the 11-team, 30-match competition before playing Gold Coast United on Friday August the 13th in Wellington and hosting the Central Coast Mariners the following weekend.

The addition of the Melbourne Heart means all 11 clubs will have three byes during the regular season, which will now have mid-week matches.
