Tahu fit for Blues

The New South Wales rugby league centre Timana Tahu has declared himself a 100 per cent certainty to play in next Wednesday night's State of Origin opener after convincing Blues medical staff he has overcome an ankle injury.

Tahu says he's ready to take part in every training session starting on Saturday, having been restricted to light duties earlier in the week after aggravating an existing injury in Parramatta's win over Manly on Monday night.

After being on standby, Cronulla five-eighth Trent Barrett has been released from camp and the Sharks skipper will now line up for the NRL strugglers in tonight's clash against the Eels at Parramatta Stadium.

The remainder of the Blues squad has been given the day off ahead of what is expected to be a gruelling two days of preparation for next week's series opener.
