The Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo has extended his MotoGP championship lead with victory in the French Grand Prix as Casey Stoner's horrible campaign continued.
The Australian was fastest in the morning warm-up at Le Mans but crashed his Ducati on the third lap while running in fourth place.
Lorenzo's team-mate Valentino Rossi finished second to retain second place in the world championship, nine points behind the Spaniard.
Third home was Dani Pedrosa followed by Honda team-mate Andrea Dovizioso.
