The captain of English football club Arsenal, Spain's Cesc Fabregas, wants his requested transfer to Barcelona to be agreed to as soon as possible, so he can fully concentrate on next month's World Cup.

But Fabregas's father says the 23-year-old midfielder is expecting the negotiations between Arsenal and Barcelona to be very long, because it's a complicated issue.

Spanish media have reported that Barcelona want to conclude the purchase of Fabregas before the World Cup in South Africa, but the director general of the La Liga champions, Joan Oliver, says the club has not yet made an offer

Oliver says the club's made contact with Arsenal, but are in no hurry to sign the player.
