More trouble on the water at La Maddalena Louis Vuitton

6:28 am on 26 May 2010

Team New Zealand sailed only one of its three scheduled races on day four of the La Maddalena Louis Vuitton Trophy regatta in Sardinia.

Team New Zealand was to meet Italy's Luna Rossa, before racing two flights abandoned on the first day against the USA's Oracle and Artemis of Sweden.

But the round robin schedule was put back when France's Aleph and Italy's Azzurra collided in the pre-start of their match, and light, shifty winds also played their part.

Team New Zealand's race against Luna Rossa was delayed while a damaged mainsail was replaced on the New Zealand boat.

Despite a close race, Luna Rossa won by 13 seconds.
