There are at least 10 top line players unavailable because of injury.
It's also likely the selectors checked up on the Crusaders players who returned from South Africa earlier this week after their Super 14 semi-final loss.
Henry will name a 26-man squad on Sunday with the Test against Ireland in New Plymouth just two weeks away.
