The Team Wellington midfielder Cole Peverley will fly out tomorrow to join the All Whites in Europe.
21-year-old Peverley will join the squad as cover for the injured Tim Brown.
Brown will have surgery tomorrow on the shoulder he injured in Monday night's friendly against Australia in Melbourne.
Peverley was a member of the New Zealand football team that competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
He will be an unofficial member of the All Whites squad until a decision is made on the future of Brown.
The All Whites play Serbia in another World Cup warmup match in Austria this weekend.
