The world number three Novak Djokovic survived a second-set lapse before advancing to the fourth round of the French Tennis Open, in Paris.

Djokovic beat Romania's Victor Hanescu in four sets, 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-2, coming back from a break down, in the fourth to win six games in a row.

Four time champion Rafael Nadal beat Australian Lleyton Hewitt in straight sets 6-3 6-4 6-3.

In the women's draw American world number one Serena Williams overcame a dizzy spell in the second set to beat beat Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1 1-6 6-2.

Williams needed a check-up from a doctor after dropping five consecutive games to her 18-year-old opponent in the second set and admitted afterwards that she wasn't feeling well.
