All Whites beat Serbia world cup warm up match

The All Whites have beaten 15th ranked Serbia, one-nil in a football world cup warm-up match in Klagenfurt, in Austria.

Striker Shane Smeltz scored the only goal of the match for the 78th ranked New Zealand side.

The All Whites coach Ricki Herbert made four changes to the starting lineup that lost 2-1 to Australia in Melbourne last week.

Defenders Winston Reid and Tommy Smith made their first appearances in the starting eleven, while striker Chris Wood replaced Chris Killen who'd returned to England to get married while Jeremy Christie replaced injured midfield Tim Brown.

The All Whites next warm up match is against Slovenia, in Slovenia next Saturday.
