The All Whites coach Ricki Herbert says his side's win over 15th-ranked Serbia will make the football world sit up and take notice of New Zealand.
Ranked 78th in the world, New Zealand beat Serbia, a side boasting players from leading clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Ajax, 1-0 with Shane Smeltz scoring the winner midway through the first half.
Herbert says Serbia is a world class side and as his side only arrived in Austria a couple of days before the match, the result is all the more pleasing and will be hard for the Serbians to take.
