The Highlanders and Hawke's Bay first five-eighth Matthew Berquist is heading north to play for Auckland in this year's provincial rugby championship.
The 27-year-old will be joined by the former Chiefs and Highlanders halfback Toby Morland, who is returning from a short-term stint with Munster.
Auckland's head coach Mark Anscombe says Berquist was one of Hawke's Bay's outstanding performers last year and Morland will bring a lot of experience to a relatively young side in the key No.9 jersey.
