The Ireland rugby team is confident they can compete with the All Blacks this weekend, if they put forward their best performance.

Ireland has lost a few key players through injury, but the team's backs coach, Alan Gaffney, says the side isn't using that as an excuse.

Gaffney says the All Blacks were going to be a tough team to beat even if Ireland were at full strength.

But he says the sides not using that as an excuse, and Ireland's confident they'll be competitve against New Zealand despite it's weakened team.
