The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic have been well beaten by the New South Wales Swifts, who secured the minor premiership in netball's trans-Tasman championship with a 60-43 win in Sydney.

The Magic trailed by four after the first quarter last night but that was as close as it got as the hosts remain unbeaten after 11 games.

The Magic's third loss in a row leaves them on 14 points, level with the Southern Streel who move to third ahead of the Magic on goal difference after their 53-39 home win over the Canterbury Tactix.

The Northern Mystics are sixth on 12 points with the Firebirds, just behind the Queenslanders on goal difference, while the Central Pulse and Canterbury Tactix remain bottom of the table on two points.
