The Europe-based New Zealand golfers Mark Brown and Danny Lee have been unsuccessful at the final European qualifying tournament for July's British Open at St Andrews, finishing well outside the qualifying score of 6-under par.
Among the 10 who did qualify was the 46 year old Scot Colin Montgomerie who made it comfortably with a course record equalling 62 at Sunningdale in England.
Montgomerie has played in every Open championship since 1990.
