The rugby league convert Sonny Bill Williams has finally confirmed he's returning to New Zealand in a bid to become an All Black before the 2011 World Cup.

He's signed a deal with the New Zealand rugby union through until the end of next year and will play in the national provincial competition but has yet to decide on which province he'll play for.

Williams says he'll make that decision when he returns to New Zealand next month.

The 24-year-old switched to rugby union and joined French club Toulon two years ago, playing alongside former All Blacks captain Tana Umaga, after breaking his contract with Australian rugby league side Canterbury Bulldogs.
