The New Zealand swimmers Melissa Ingram and Gareth Kean have won silver and bronze medals respectively at the Mare Nostrum series in Barcelona.
Ingram finished second in the 200-metres backstroke while Kean, who qualified last for the 100-metres backstroke final, improved to third in the race.
Despite arriving only two days before the meet, New Zealand swimmers qualified for 12 finals.
Southland's Natalie Wiegersma finished fourth in the 200-metres individual medley.
