Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic's beaten the Central Pulse 58-52 in Napier in round 13 of netball's ANZ championship.
After three losses in a row the Magic had to win to stay in the top four with one game to go in the round robin.
The Pulse made a confident goal-for-goal start to lead the first quarter 13-12 and trailed by only two at half-time and going into the third quarter.
But then they allowed the Magic to take charge of a match in which both sides turned over possession far too often.
