Dagg given A pass in debut for All Blacks

The All Blacks coaching team have given debutant Israel Dagg a glowing review after the 22 year old helped New Zealand to a 66-28 victory over Ireland in the first rugby test of the year in New Plymouth last night.

Although the match was effectively over in the 16th minute when the Irish number eight Jamie Heaslip was sent off for kneeing an All Black player in the head, the home side still showed some moments of brilliance on their way to the nine try win.

Dagg formed a dangerous back three with Joe Rocokoko and Cory Jane and assistant coach Wayne Smith gave the fullbacks debut two thumbs up.

The All Blacks next game is against Wales in Dunedin on Saturday night.
