NZ Football keen on hanging onto Herbert

10:07 am on 23 June 2010

The CEO of New Zealand Football, Michael Glading says they've been talking regularly with All Whites coach Ricki Herbert about his future with them.

Herbert has caught the eye of the footballing world after guiding New Zealand to draws against Slovakia and Italy at the World Cup.

There have been reports that a number of foreign clubs are showing an interest where he could earn 5 times as much as he is doing with the Wellington Phoenix, with whom he has another year to go on his contract.

Herbert is refusing to discuss his future while they're still involved in the World Cup, however Glading, who is in South Africa, says it is on the agenda.....

Glading says even if Herbert does look at a club overseas, they'd still be interested in having him involved with the All Whites as the international window for the next few years is quite limited.
