Japanese ref to control All Whites game

6:41 pm on 23 June 2010

The Japanese referee Yuichi Nishimura will take charge of New Zealand's last Group F World Cup match against Paraguay in Polokwane on Friday morning.

Nishimura has refereed the matches between Uruguay and France and Spain and Honduras... handing out 7 yellow cards in total.

Nishimura, who has been an international referee since 2004, is highly regarded by FIFA having controlled the world under 17 final in 2007.

The All White striker Rory Fallon had wanted a British referee for the match who would be more lenient to his physical style.

Instead Englishman Howard Webb will control the other Group F match between Italy and Slovakia
