Hyaden Roulston to miss Tour de France

The New Zealand cyclist Hayden Roulston says he's getting over the disappointment of being told he won't be riding in the Tour of France.

In a message on his website the Olympic medallist says he was gutted at first but acknowledges he was never a sure thing as his HTC Columbia team is a very strong this year.

He says there are 10 riders good enough to ride the Tour and this year he's the one who'll be left at home when last year it was another strong rider, Simon Gerrans.

Two other New Zealanders Julian Dean and Greg Henderson are likely to ride the Tour.
