Aussies say they can hold their heads high

The Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek says Australia can be proud of their World Cup, picking themselves up after a big loss in the opening match against Germany.

But ultimately that 4-0 loss cost them a place in the second round. They beat Serbia 2-1 in the final pool game, but missed out on a place in the last 16 to Ghana on goal difference.

Tim Cahill, who scored on of their goals, agrees with Verbeek and says the players can go home with their heads held high.

Germany topped the group after beating Ghana 1-0 and they go on to play England, while Ghana play the United States.
