The All Whites defender Winston Reid says the players can feel happy about their performance at the World Cup.

The All Whites have bowed out of the tournament unbeaten and ahead of the world champions, a far cry from the three heavy defeats in their only other appearance at the football finals.

New Zealand drew nil-all with Paraguay who finished top of the group, while Slovakia sneaked in the second round with a 3-2 victory over champions Italy.

Reid, who only came into the squad this year, played an intergral part in the side's defensive wall at the tournament with Tommy Smith and Ryan Nelsen, which conceded just two goals and he says he's proud of what they've achieved.

He says everyone gave 110 percent and gave all they had and nobody back in New Zealand would've thought they'd go unbeaten.
