Kim Clijsters has started week two at Wimbledon with a satisfying win over her great rival of nearly 20 years Justine Henin in the 25th Battle of the Belgians.

Clijsters overcame a terrible start to win the match 2-6 6-2 6-3 and earn a place in the quarter-finals, saying after the match she's more comfortable at Wimbledon this year than she's ever been. She's on a course for a semi-final match against five times champion Venus Williams.

Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova 7-6 6-4.

The defending men's champion Roger Federer shrugged off his first week blues with a straight sets demolition of the Austrian Jurgen Melzer.

Andy Murray beat the seeded American Sam Querry in straight sets, but Novak Djokovic needed four seeds to get past Australia's Lleyton Hewitt.
