San Francisco has been named as the sole US city bidding to host the next America's Cup, in either 2013 or 2014.
San Francisco is the base for the Golden Gate Yacht Club, whose Oracle Racing team won this year's Americas's Cup in Spain and has the option of selecting the venue.
A final decision on the host venue will be made at the end of the year.
