New Zealand rowers set record

7:31 am on 11 July 2010

A new international record for New Zealand rowing with nine crews in finals at the World Cup regatta in Lucerne.

Eight New Zealand crews secured places in A finals overnight, and with the women's pair already confirmed it was a new mark for the sport here.

Mahé Drysdale, the men's pair, the women's pair, the lightweight and heavyweight doubles, the women's quad, and both of the coxless fours will all go for gold in the finals, though there was disappointment for

Duncan Grant in the lightweight single scull A final, finishing a tired sixth.
