The LA Lakers point guard Derek Fisher has announced he will stay another year with his basketball side.
The reigning NBA champions have already lost star Jordon Farmar to New Jersey and will be happy not to have lost Fisher who started all 82 games last season averaging 7.5 points and 2.5 assists.
Meanwhile the Miami Heat have resigned Udonis Haslem in a five-year deal worth $US20 million.
Haslam who has played along side Dwyane Wade for the last seven NBA season will now have LeBron James and Chris Bosh as new teammates.
Haslem has averaged 10.0 points and 8.1 rebounds in his seven Miami seasons
