The Melbourne Storm's National Rugby League salary cap breaches amount to nearly double what owners News Ltd predicted.
Fairfax is reporting an audit commissioned by News and conducted by accounting firm Deloitte has concluded the NRL club's breaches tallied $3.2 million Australian from 2006 until the end of this season.
News had predicted breaches of $1.7 million.
The Deloitte investigation said the Storm would be $1.3 million over the cap in 2011 with their current roster of stars.
The results of the audit are likely to be released officially today.
