The Kiwis rugby league captain Benji Marshall has orchestrated a dramatic 26-16 come-from-behind NRL win over North Queensland in Sydney.

The Tigers trailed 16-0 halfway through the first half at Leichhardt Oval against a side above only Melbourne on the ladder.

But they maintained their hopes of a top two finish by running in six unanswered tries.

Marshall set up three and finished with a 70-metre solo effort in the final minute but missed his opening four shots at goal, leaving the sides locked at 16-all late in the game.

The Kiwi five-eighth fed Liam Fulton scored the clincher with three minutes left after Marshall missed a field goal from point blank range.

The win leaves the Tigers third on 26 points, four behind the leaders the Dragons and level with the second-placed Panthers with the Roosters and Warriors fourth and fifth on 24.
