Open champion still on fire

6:32 am on 23 July 2010

There's been no let down for the new British Open golf champion Louis Oosthuizen who's gone one place better than his first day at St Andrews.

The 27 year old South African had five birdies on his homeward nine on day one of the Scandinavian Masters to post a 67 and share the lead with Australia's Richard Green and the big-hitting American Dustin Johnson.

Oosthuizen was delighted with his round, saying the last thing he wanted to do was put up a bad show because the Swedish galleries had been unbelievable, cheering him on every tee and green.

Despite his round, he admitted feeling very drained by events of the last week, and he's looking forward to some time off next week.

New Zealand's Mark Brown had a 73, and Michael Campbell an 81.
