The Black Caps all rounder Grant Elliott will captain Wellington in the next domestic cricket season, taking over from Matthew Bell in all three forms of the game.
Jeetan Patel takes over from Neal Parlane as vice-captain.
Elliott was Wellington's Player of the Year two years in a row before missing almost all of last season with a knee injury.
The 31-year-old says while everyone's disappointed with last season there is a good blend of experienced senior players at the peak of their game and excellent emerging younger players.
