Contador set to win third Tour de France title

8:18 am on 25 July 2010

Spain's Alberto Contador is poised to win a third Tour de France title after retaining the yellow jersey in the final time trial.

Contador finished 35th in the 19th stage, a 52-kilometre timed effort won by the Swiss Fabian Cancellara, and holds a 39-second advantage over Luxembourg's Andy Schleck.

Tomorrow's final stage is traditionally a day-long parade to the Champs Elysees in Paris.

Tour legend Lance Armstrong's Radioshack looks set to take team honours as he bows out in France.

New Zealand's world pursuit medallist Jesse Sergent is joining Radioshack for the rest of the season.
