The Sydney Roosters rugby league side won a thrilling Monday night NRL contest against the Brisbane Broncos with centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall scoring four tries in the Roosters' 34-30 victory at Suncorp Stadium.

Kenny-Dowall's fourth try regained the lead for the Roosters after the Broncos had staged a stunning comeback from 28-6 down in the second half to lead 30-28.

The Broncos captain Darren Lockyer was impressed enough to tip the Roosters as genuine premiership contenders.

The Roosters join Penrith and Wests Tigers on 26 points, four behind the leaders St George Illawarra, while the Broncos stay in ninth place.
