Black Sticks captain back for World Cup

The New Zealand women's team for the World Cup in Argentina has been boosted by the return of captain Kayla Sharland.

The midfielder missed the Champions Trophy in England with a hamstring injury and says it was hard watching the Black Sticks, who finished well with a win over China in the playoff for fifth and sixth.

Sharland's return means Laura Douglas misses out after playing at the Champions Trophy.

So does Kate Mahon, with Anna Thorpe named subject to being cleared of a quadricep injury.

Douglas and Mahon are on standby for the tournament, which starts on August the 29th.
